What is therapy?

Therapy is a valuable tool that can help you solve problems, set and achieve goals, improve your communication skills, or teach you new ways to track your emotions and keep your stress levels in check.

It can help you build the life, career, and relationship that you want. Therapy can provide you with clarity, self-understanding, and long-lasting happiness.

What type of therapy do you do?

Each therapy session is tailored to your unique needs.

My approach is to focus on subconscious beliefs that drive our thoughts and emotions. By uncovering these beliefs, we can change what’s not working in your life.

Along with talk therapy, I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and hypnotherapy, which can often hasten the healing process by making it easier to access these beliefs.

Above all, I will listen without judgment to help you find solutions to the challenges you face.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Call me. If I’m in session, I will get back to you as soon as possible. It’s a big step to reach out for help. I do my best to get back to you quickly.

If you prefer to text, please do! I can be reached via text at (909) 263-1535. Please leave your first name, a request for a phone consultation, a good contact phone number, and the best time to reach you. No need to provide details… we will discuss what’s happening with you during our phone conversation.

Do you take insurance?

I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and United Health Care.

I can also provide you with a “Superbill” if you are covered by a different insurance that covers out-of-network providers.

What are my Session Fees?

$85 – $120 and I have a few spots where I can offer a sliding scale.

Why see a therapist? Why not just talk to a friend or someone in my family?

If you are blessed with caring, supportive family members and friends, by all means, share your feelings, goals, and dreams with those people. They are a big part of your support network, and their insights and encouragement can be very helpful. However, people who already know you might not always be completely objective when listening to you.

This is why working with a therapist can be so valuable. It’s a unique opportunity to share everything you’re feeling, and everything you want to create. A therapy session is a space where you don’t have to worry about hurting anyone else’s feelings – where you can be totally honest.

It also means you have the potential to solve problems faster and with greater success. In the long run, that’s better for you and everyone else involved in your life, too.

How long does it take therapy to work?

This varies from person to person. I’ve had clients who booked one session, we worked out their issue(s), and they were all set. They marched out and didn’t need a follow-up session. Sometimes, one brave, honest conversation is really all you need.

Other clients have booked sessions with me over a period of several weeks or months, focusing on one issue, resolving that issue, then perhaps moving on to a different challenge.

Then there are other clients with whom I’ve been working for some time. They appreciate having a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly “check-in.” They may share their feelings, sharpen their life skills as needed, or perhaps enjoy a deeply nourishing guided meditation or hypnotherapy experience to de-stress.

Therapy is really about whatever a client needs: a one-time conversation, a temporary source of support during a life transition, or an ongoing experience to optimize health physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

What will be expected of me in therapy and what can I expect from you?

For my part, I will:

  • listen with empathy and curiosity
  • provide a safe comfortable space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings
  • offer a judgment-free environment
  • facilitate understanding of the issues you bring to our sessions
  • honor the relationship between us as it grows and changes
  • be honest with you
  • be open to your honesty with me

For your part, please:

  • commit to weekly or bi-weekly sessions and be on time for your sessions
  • be honest about your thoughts and feelings, especially when they are challenging to admit
  • ask questions and be curious of what comes up in sessions
  • do your best to do any assigned “homework” between sessions

By committing to the above expectations, we can journey together toward healing and wholeness.

Have you ever binge-watched a series or show on Netflix?

Great question! Yep, I have.

I binge-watched the Netflix series Mindhunter in two days. My daughter was so proud of me!

Is your furniture comfortable?

It’s super comfy. There are lots of soft pillows on my couch and a cute stuffed animal for playing or cuddling with if that’s your thing.
