Trauma Recovery

Trauma is essentially a fact of life.

The longer we live, the more inevitable it is that we will experience trauma.

Trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual’s ability to cope. It causes feelings of helplessness, weakens their sense of self, and diminishes their ability to feel the full range of emotions and experiences.

Trauma can be experienced during a one-time event such as a car accident… or during ongoing events such as abuse or neglect as a child.

The unfortunate signs and symptoms of trauma…

Sometimes memories of traumatic events can be triggered by specific smells, sounds, or sights…

And symptoms of trauma can include body aches, headaches, physical weakness, or a racing heartbeat.

Other times, individuals can experience flashbacks as a result of trauma, which can make them feel as though they’re reliving the painful events of their past.

Therapy and healing for those dealing with trauma…

Together, in a safe and compassionate atmosphere, I can help you gain better understanding of how trauma has impacted your life and create a path for you to find relief from your pain.

Through EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), clinical hypnosis/hypnotherapy, talk therapy, mindfulness, or a combination of these, we can address the roots of your pain to help you have more fulfilling relationships with friends and loved ones and a more peaceful life.

EMDR can help address traumatic memories and “reprogram” them, so the memories no longer trigger emotional pain.

Clinical Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy involves deep relaxation in a safe environment to help heal the pain that is associated with traumatic events.

Mindfulness is a way of bringing us into the present moment and can have a very calming effect, sometimes a feeling of a deep connection to mother earth.
